I plan to use this visit to scout out geological field sites and run through logistical considerations such as outcrop quality, driving times, road and trail conditions, and cooking/sleeping parameters. I am considering adding this location to the sequence of places I visit on my spring break field course, a special section of Environmental Geology. I will be doing this field check with my family in tow (as part of a larger family holiday trip to Death Valley; but this is a work thing.) If I do decide that it's a good fit for my class, I would return in March 2027 with other faculty and students.
