In this visit, I plan to acquaint myself with the reserve and evaluate it in order to plan future weekend retreats with students. As a professor at Cal State Fullerton, I have been looking for spaces to host 3-day weekend retreats for students who participate in study away programs. Before they commit to a 2-week program in Mexico or Puerto Rico, I want students to participate in a 3-day weekend retreat in a location closer to home. I am interested in the fact that students can interact with nature, that they will be far away from the distractions of home and that they won't have access to their phones. In this way, we can create an environment where we can focus on growing the skills they need for a long term study away program.
