Coal Oil Point Reserve is a coastal reserve, 4 miles north of the UC Santa Barbara campus. It has rare coastal habitats such as a salt marsh, beach, dunes, coastal dune scrub, grassland, and vernal pools. The reserve has several active monitoring programs to help us understand the reserve's resources and to train students in field sciences.
