07 Apr, 02 PM - 11 Apr, 02 PM
Colorado College Island Ecology Course (BE440): Students will participate in lecture and discussion activities related to island ecology, evolution, and conservation with an emphasis on the natural and cultural history of Santa Cruz Island. Students will work as pairs to conduct observational field research in locations within 5 miles of the research station as a part of an interisland field research comparison between Santa Rosa Island and Santa Cruz Island. Observational field experiments employ nondestructive methods and may require the use of transect tape, quadrats, GPS units, temperature gauges, binoculars, rangefinders, DBH tape, densiometers, and other field gear provided by Colorado College. Students may require use of lab space as well.
