Visit key geologic outcrops on the western end of Santa Cruz Island. Take field notes and photos. Some hiking along dirt roads and beaches will be needed. We want to focus on coastal alluvial-fan and marine terrace outcrops that document sea-level changes during the late Quaternary. Key goals are to determine which deposits are marine and nonmarine, and separate out which deposits are transgressive and regressive. Korey Harvey is a sedimentologist. Thomas Davis is a geologist.
