Team members will be setting up a Malaise trap with five pitfall traps near the weather station on Thursday July 3rd. Soil from setting the pitfall traps will be collected for eDNA analyses. The team will leave the reserve and return on Sunday July 6th to collect the traps. In addition to the traps, water from the creek will be filtered to collect eDNA with all water returned immediately. Following statewide SWAMP protocols, we will also collect aquatic invertebrates from the creek. If possible, 2 cups of damp leaf litter will be sifted to collect invertebrates.
