An upper division Physiological Ecology field course will conduct an investigation of salt marsh plant water relations, looking at the competition & zonation hypothesis in Callaway & Pennings study of this marsh. To do this, we'll measure soil water potentials and in vivo water potentials of Salicornia and Limonium using Wescor HR-33T & C52 dewpoint hygrometry system along the tidal gradient. There will be 10 students plus myself for one afternoon.
