After several years of not teaching microbial ecology here at CSUN, I am teaching it this fall 2023. We would like to return to the marsh and collected sediment cores along a drainage channel for students to use throughout the semester in the laboratory portion of the course. The general sampling strategy will be the same as in previous years although modifications will be made as necessary depending on how the marsh has changed. There will be between 15-17 students/teaching assistants coming to the marsh on September 23.
