This three-day teaching retreat is designed to introduce incoming EA+SP MFA students to equitable pedagogy and teaching practices and to foreground the principles of environmental art and social practice through direct engagement with the natural environment at the Big Creek Reserve. Specifically, we will engage in mindful observation through sit-spots and group hikes, pedagogy training through workshops, and community building during our time together. We hope to stay in the Gatehouse and to use the Classroom, but if the Classroom is already in use we are happy to simply gather outdoors for workshops. Thank you for considering this request.
