Alstad is a graduate student in grassland ecology at University of Wisconsin Madison, and together Alstad and Udelhofen are working on a grassland restoration project on their property in Wisconsin. The purpose of this visit is to visit the grassland systems at Big Creek Reserve to acquaint themselves with an unfamiliar grassland ecosystem, and compare restoration and management practices.
