Landels-Hill Big Creek Reserve
10 Oct, 12 PM - 13 Oct, 12 PM
We will be running a geology field trip in the Santa Lucia mountains between October 10 and 14. This trip is funded by the National Science Foundation as a"Geology Field Institute", supporting a new initiative within Geosciences to study deep crustal exposures of continental crust. The new initiative is called ExTerra. The coastal geology of California is ideally suited for such studies and will be a focus site for ExTerra. This initial geology trip will visit some of the most revealing outcrops in the Santa Lucia Mountains (one of which is actually on the Big Creek reserve), and will be accompanied by talks to be given by participants. We plan to run this trip for ~12 people total, half of whom will be graduate students or postdocs.
