I am investigating ecological and physiological mechanisms of drought-related mortality in conifers. Specifically, I am interested in understanding how the recent drought is affecting coastal redwood and Douglas fir survival and, eventually, recovery. In this visit to Big Creek, I plan to scout trees to potentially use in a future study. No removals or manipulation will be performed.
