I will place a bat detector in three different sites in three different habitats, Coastal Redwood, Chaparral, and Grassland, to collect data on what types of bats are present based on the sounds they emit. I will be hiking around looking for ideal places to put the detector. Once every week, I will rotate the detector through the three sites in the different habitats. At the end of the study, my Principal Investigator and I will conduct a mist netting to get a chance to see the bats we have been studying.
