Younger Lagoon - Unseen California data collection installation proposal Prof. Karolina Karlic, UCSC
Proposal for temporary Fog Data Collection plate installation:
Inspired by scientific fog data collection instruments, UCSC Professor Karlic will install (8) 18" x 24" copper sheets attached to t-posts to collect visual fog data as it records on the copper substrate over a 2 year duration. This installation takes place across multiple protected land research sites along the California coast, at UC NRS sites, national parks, and nature conservancies.
Installation at Younger Lagoon is proposed for April 2024.
You will see and example of the copper plates pictured here at Santa Cruz Island, permitted by the nature conservancy and UCNRS: https://ucnrs.org/unseen-california-arts-initiative-uses-nrs-reserves-as-canvas/
