A team of 5 individuals, alongside Gary Bucciarelli who will already be on site, will set up Malaise and pitfall traps near the weather station. These will either be collected in the evening, or the morning after by Gary. Small amounts of soil, totalling ~ 20ml, will be collected from some of the pitfall trap holes. Gators will be used to drive to the perennial pond (38°30'40"N 122°09'01"W) and filter water to collect eDNA. All water will be returned to the pond. If there is any damp leaf litter currently on the site, we will sift 2-3 cups of this to collect invetebrates.
