This will be the first of two field trips to Sedgwick Ranch as part of Measuring our Environment (Geography 175). For this trip, I will introduce the students to the Lisque Creek site, then we will repeat the same vegetation transects we have measured in past classes. Observations will include measures of surface albedo and temperature, species composition and abundance, average canopy heights and digital images for cover and surface temperature. We have six pre-defined transects already marked and will be resampling them at six randomly selected quadrats per transect.
