The main purpose of our visit is to collect Veromessor. andrei forager ants and bring them back to the lab on UCLA campus. I will hopefully be collecting anywhere from 1-4 colonies, and for each colony I plan on collecting anywhere from 50-200 foragers (depends on availability). I will be conducting a collaborative experiment with my lab mate where we expose both V. Andrei and another genus/species of harvester ants to different levels of humidity/temperature to see whether this environmental variable affects their digging behavior and thus their nest architecture
