Myself and several graduate students from UCSB would like to visit the reserve on Thursday, August 29th. The main objective is recon, in which we will visit a number of burned sites, photograph and describe the sites and locate them on GPS. These will be critical for later analysis of AVIRIS-3 data acquired on Monday. We will also evaluate potential sites for new phenocams for monitoring. Finally, if time permits, we will revisit several burned SHIFT polygons and acquire a new set of Wonderpole imagery (non destructive photographs for cover estimation). We view the latter as important test data sets needed for establishing a monitoring protocol
