I will be collecting leaves from Quercus agrifolia, Quercus douglasii, and Querus lobata to measure predawn and midday water potential. I will also be collecting extra leaf, stem, and root samples to measure non-structural carbohydrates. I will be with Victoria Sork's team to collect physiological measurements on the oaks (mostly stomatal conductance using a porometer) and to collect acorns. Additionally, I will be scouting trees with Victoria to reassess which of my trees survived the Lake Fire and to determine where I can add tree's for my future physiological measurements at Sedgwick related to post-fire physiology. I will be collecting leaves from Valley Oak, Blue Oak, and Coast Live Oak to measure for pre-dawn and mid-day water potential. I will also be collecting extra leaf samples, stems, and small root samples to measure for non-structural carbohydrates from all three species.
