Sagehen Creek Field Station

07 Jul, 08 AM - 12 Jul, 05 PM

We will take small clippings (10 leaves) from around 40 sagebrush plants from Rick Karban's historic 99 plants (I believe this is Taylor's meadow) for the choice tests in Petri dishes with Trirhabda pilosa larvae collected in the area. Using the same plants, we will conduct no-choice tests using clip cages for 24 hrs. All larvae will be returned to the exact site where they were collected within 48 hours. We also plan on conducting volatile collections on 12-15 sagebrush plants. This involves covering a sagebrush branch in PET bag for 24 hrs and then using a pump to remove the headspace VOCs from the bag and collecting them on a VOC trap.
