We will visit the springs where Dr. Hill, in collaboration with Dr. Rademacher and Dr. Meyers, have been sampling the hydrology and macroinvertebrate fauna. Protocols are the same as our research project. This trip is a group of students in Hill's Methods in Field Biology class. We will show them how to take measurements with YSI loggers, and Hobo loggers, how to service the emergence traps, and how to conduct black lighting. We will discuss spring and stream ecology and conduct the bi-weekly sampling (temperature, dissolved oxygen, spc, pH, discharge, and water samples) for the research project on this trip.
