We would like to visit the station as artists-in-residence for two nights. Before visiting we will have art students do a deep dive into ecologies, histories, and also the previous resident artists of the Sagehen area before we get there to do our work. While there, the artists will do artistic research that they will use to create an artwork in response to some of the topics that we will be working with in the course, for example - histories of fire suppression and current management strategies; queer ecologies; community resilience (through a cross disciplinary lens). Our responses to the site with place based work will become part of the Nevada Art Museum Sagehen residency collection. This will be a small diverse group of early career accomplished artists.
