We are part of a five-person writing group through UCSC that works from various UC reserve stations. Over the past couple of years, we've loved spending time at Point Reyes, Big Sur, Hastings, Sedgwick, Santa Cruz Island, and Yosemite—and we're very excited about the possibility of visiting Blue Oak Ranch Reserve. During the daytimes, we each work separately on our writing projects, which are long-term engagements with landscape, environment, and place. In the evenings, we come together to discuss our writing and share what we've accomplished that day. On our final evening, we have a "salon" where we read an excerpt from our work.
