The UC NRS Data Science Training provides low-income/1st generation college students from local community colleges and 4-year institutions with research experience. It introduces them to a scientific community early in their academic career to prepare them for research at the university or other institutions. At the Yosemite Field Station, students will embark on a multi-day field training with UCSB and NRS staff to learn about ongoing research projects, visit research sites, practice techniques used in field research, and learn to communicate science to the general public.
