This is an environmental humanities seminar and writing course for graduate students whose research and work revolves around place-based engagement with landscapes. In the Fall 2024 quarter, our focus is on writing about landscapes of the winter Sierra: foliage, stone, weather, season -- and all sensory detail related to this site. This class excursion (4 nights) will be the culmination of our quarter. We will write during the day, holding one 3-hour writing course per afternoon. On the final night, we will hold our quarterly reading series to share our texts with one another.
