Train environmental science and marine ecology students on the basics of water and sediment chemistry while using the Salton Sea as a class case study. Students will be presenting on various aspects of the Salton Sea during the semester to gain knowledge on the current state of this ecological crisis. Presentations will range from water allocation and use to public health impacts of a receding shoreline to saline water chemistry. Thus visiting the actual site will be critical for students to observe the current state of the environment at the Sea.
