Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve
14 Jul, 12 AM - 15 Jul, 12 PM
This July data collection is identical to June 2025 and summer 2024 surveys. This project aims to assess crab activity along tidal creeks in relation to geomorphological traits. A total of 12 transects, 10 meters in length, are established along 4 separate tidal creeks. At each transect, pitfall and minnow traps are set for 24 hours to survey crabs and burrow count, vegetation, water quality, and sediment shear strength surveys are conducted. All surveys are observational and no marsh materials or organisms are taken out of the marsh. Transects are in the same locations as last year and are at least 20 meters from any artificial rail nests.
