Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve

14 Jun, 12 AM - 15 Jun, 11 PM

This June data collection is the start of my 2025 monthly summer observational surveys. Protocol is identical to my data collection in summer 2024. This project aims to assess crab activity along tidal creeks in relation to geomorphological traits. A total of 12 transects, 10 meters in length, are established along 4 separate tidal creeks. At each transect, pitfall and minnow traps are set for 24 hours to survey crabs and burrow count, vegetation, water quality, and sediment shear strength surveys are conducted. All surveys are observational and no marsh materials or organisms are taken out of the marsh. Transects are in the same locations as last year and are at least 20 meters from any artificial rail nests.
