Do observation-based research at Point Reyes, reflection, and writing related to my environmental arts and humanities writing. This visit will add to prior research visits to the area related to my book in progress entitled "A Tree and a Buddha: Imagining Arboreal Humanities." I've published two chapters of this book and am at work on its third, which centers on a statue constructed in 1893 in what is now Muir Woods National Monument and its context of settler colonial occupation of the forests and coasts north of San Francisco.
