Hosting Berkeley's new and current gender-minority math PhD students at Point Reyes Field Station was a huge success last year! It resulted in increased turnout due to better accessibility for students, easier carpooling, and a welcoming house environment. The Noetherian Ring, a group for women and gender-minority postdocs, faculty, and grad students at UC Berkeley's math department, would like to build on last year's programming by hosting a second nature weekend retreat at Point Reyes Field Station. We have an unprecedented number of new women, transgender, and nonbinary grad students in the past year's student cohort, and expect this year to be a larger and more organized affair, and an even greater chance to form bonds among our community and hold discussions on career advancement, teaching, department culture, and other issues that affect us and our department.
