This visit is a working retreat for a group of 12 UCSC PhD students from the Visual Studies program whose work combines critical scholarship and in some cases, creative writing and other artistic mediums. Many of us are working on projects tied closely to issues of landscape and environmental concerns. We (12 of us) will be working on dissertation writing each day (two sessions per day, 9am-12pm; 2-5pm) and then convening in the evenings to share and discuss our writing. We would love the opportunity to write and workshop each other's writing in a welcoming, collaborative setting.
