Rules and Regulations
You, as the applicant, are responsible for ensuring that you and any members of your group adhere to the rules and policies of the UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Laboratory. If the following outlined rules are not followed, your visit on the site and all related research activities will be be stopped immediately.
1) No tobacco products use on-site. Tobacco products of any type are not permitted on property owned or managed by the University of California.
2) No pets (except service animals).
3) No guns or firearms.
4) All use and visits must be approved prior to arrival; each separate visit requires its own online reserve use activity to be submitted and approved.
5) Visitor/Group coordinator is responsible for compliance with CSSL rules, policies, and procedures for their group's visit and/or use of the laboratory.
6) Fully completed waivers for non-UC visitors are required prior to anything beginning, as well as copies of all permits.
7) If you are staying overnight, please limit your use of laboratory WiFi to avoid overwhelming and slowing down internet services.

Directions
The Central Sierra Snow Laboratory is located approximately 10 miles west of Truckee on Donner Pass Road. While access to the site is straightforward in the summer, winter conditions are highly variable and travel to/from the lab can be hazardous. Please consult with the station manager to ensure appropriate trip planning and safe arrival.
Directions to the laboratory from I-80:
*Exit I-80 and go east on Donner Pass Road.
*Exit I-80 and go east on Donner Pass Road.
*Continue east on Donner Pass Road for ~1.5 miles.
* Turn left onto Bunny Hill Road (two trailers can be seen at a parking lot at the bottom of the hill).
* If it is summer, continue up Bunny Hill Road for 1000 feet and park your car in front of the lab or along the road.
* If it is winter, Bunny Hill Road may not be plowed and hiking to the lab will be the only option. Park your car in the parking lot next to the trailer at the bottom of the hill and call the station (530-426-0318) to notify them of your arrival. The staff will arrange to meet you and walk with you to the lab.
