We have an NRS summer student and we would like her to be involved in a survey of the insects of the James Reserve with a focus on Heteropteran and Hymenoptera. We hope to set up two Malaise traps (insect intercept traps) for a two year basis. This will be followed up by monthly visits to retrieve the samples and to sample more thoroughly for insects using sweep-netting, yellow pan traps and light traps. Her collections are also part of a general survey of California insects.
