James San Jacinto Mountains Reserve
04 Apr, 12 PM - 06 Apr, 02 PM
The goal of this excursion is to provide freshmen biology majors with an experience in field biology. We intend to engage the students in activities such as survey techniques, animal track/scat identification, telemetry, plant and animal identification, biological illustration, and field journaling. Many of our students enter the major with no exposure to, or inclination to try, the ecological sciences or field biology in general. We believe that students in a general biology degree program at a liberal arts university should be exposed to these opportunities as early as possible.
